Trippy Taco

A relative newcomer to the increasingly funky Smith Street cafe scene, Trippy Taco is a happy little place devoted to creating Mexican style food that is fresh, tasty, authentic, fast and affordable. Health is also a high priority, with loads of vegetarian and gluten-free items and vegan/dairy-free variations of cheese and sour cream available.

Trance beats trip out on to the street from the interior which boasts bright red walls as staff serve up delights such as seasonal fruit salad, breakfast burritos (free range scrambled eggs, fresh salsa and cheese in soft corn tortilla shell), huevos rancheros (traditional Mexican fried egg and black bean scramble) and Trippy's quesadillas, described as "corn tortilla madness".

Outdoor seating is available on Smith Street, perfect for cooling down from the spicy cuisine with a sweet melt of Nutella and banana in a soft flour tortilla, and a glass of Inca cola or some of the other beverages on offer imported from central and South America.

Great value!
A cosy poster-filled space nice to eat in, putting out a range of great burritos and excellent coffee. Generous burritos filled with spicy beans cut through with tangy salsa and sour cream - perfect. Casual atmosphere and friendly attentive service. Perfect for an inexpensive but filling lunch, especially if you're a vegetarian or vegan, or accompanying one. Be warned, though, takeaway can get messy if you don't watch the soggy end of your paper bag...
