Tiamo Restaurant & Bistro

A favourite of uni students, this cosy little eatery loaded with character is the perfect place to dissect the movie you have just seen, or just to relax with a good Italian meal.

Simple, Italian, Perfect!
I've been a loyal customer of Ti Amo's for several years. The food is fantastic and the ambiance is perfect for a modestly priced, traditional italian meal. I particularly enjoy the pasta dishes... something they have been refining for years and it seems to keep getting better. The pizza's from Ti Amo 2 are an amazing addition. I would highly recommend Ti Amo for anyone looking for a quality Italian meal.

Just Like Home
This is my partner's and my favourite restaurant on Lygon Street. It's understated from the outside, and even the inside, but it has ambience and good honest Italian food. The veal scallopini, ravioli amatriciana and veal parma are the best. The service can be average but it really depends on who's looking after you. It's fast and loud but has a warmth about it, just like home. They don't take bookings so get in and order some vino while you wait for a table from anywhere between 5-20 minutes I've been here about 30 times now in the past 4 years and been dissapointed twice, overall I love it.

Service Vs Food
Very poor service and bad manners on the part of the waiter who served us that night. A very bad attitude on the part of the waiter made the great tasting food lose its flavour. Both my fiancee and I will never set foot in there again!

A favourite
This is my favourite on Lygon Street. A stalwart by any means. I have been going here since I was little back when I used to wish my mum could cook this well. My all time favourite comfort food: tagliatelle fhungi.

Wiener v Carbonara
I had the Wiener Schnitzel and A had the Carbonara. My schnitzel was crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, flavour provided by chopped parsley and squeeze of lemon. His carbonara was not very good - lacking any semblence of yoke from egg, the meat tasted of boiled ham pieces. Average to poor bread, pre-buttered. Glass of Chianti was good. Noisy and bustling like a real Italian Trattoria - but lacks the authenticity of an Italian Kitchen.
