The Rocks Cafe

Encased in a classic colonial-style boutique terrace, the Rocks Cafe perfectly embodies the heritage charm of The Rocks with its spread of classic Australian photographs across the two levels of the bar-cafe-restaurant. But this iconic Sydney cafe takes on a chameleon-like identity, shape-shifting for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a cheeky drink. Breakfast highlights include fresh muffins and sourdough toast, while lunch goes gourmet with mixed sandwiches, as well as seafood and pie options like the smoked salmon hash potato or the grilled polenta and mushroom. Get seriously into steaks for dinner, like the chargrilled Angus sirloin or the pan-fried kangaroo loin, and don't be afraid to splash out on one of the premier Australian wines available.

Great Coffee, Average Food
Up until now i have been searching for a late night cafe serving a decent coffee and I finally found one. When I took a seat, I wasn't really expecting much. There's nothing special about the design, the atmosphere or the food, but the buzz of George street on a Friday night and the coffee more than compensated.

Serving a Vittoria roast was initially a turn off, but I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted my first coffee. My Latte was smooth, full-flavoured and consistent from my first sip till my last. The aroma was comforting, milk and grind were just right. I enjoyed it so much I felt the need to thank their barista.

This definitely has to be the best late night coffee I have ever had. I highly recommend trying this place out.
