Don't be fooled by the decor, this bustling Vietnamese eatery is very popular for two reasons: the food is delicious and fresh with some new takes on familiar ingredients.

Friendly service, fast and delicious food at a good price
We had to line up to get into this busy lunch spot - always a good sign. The service was friendly and the food was great. The three of us had something different and all were very good - the crispy skin chicken, goat curry and the rump (?) pepper steak. All at a very reasonable price. We'll be back again.

Yummy Chicken!
I love coming to this restaurant, it has the best Asian style crisp chicken. The skin is so crisp yet the inside so soft.My favorite the dried egg noodles with crispy chicken. BTW did anyone notice that Tan Viet was on Getaway. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!.

if u like chicken..........
A popular place in Cabramatta, always plenty of people here and bigger than your usual Vietnamese restaurant. Sometimes there is even a line outside to go in.
But for myself, I'm not sure what the fuss is about. My Vietnamese friend brought me here. I've tried the goat curry which felt a little small in portion. The pork chop was what I expected. The dry noodles (which didn't have any taste) with crispin chicken (that's right, they don't call it crispy!!) was nice. Apart from the chicken, I don't see it as any better than other Vietnamese restaurants.

Uncontested Crispy Chicken
If you are a local here, you will recall that the noodle house used to be located in little alley off John Street. There were literally 15 tables for for two in the restaurant and people would wait for up to an hour to get a seat. Now that it's in a bigger place with more seats and space, you wait even longer. You can tell how good a restaurant is in Cabramatta by the amount of people lining up outside. NO COMPLAINTS though - seriously, you have not had crispy chicken till you try Tan Viet. The skin is so crispy, yet the chicken is so soft. They serve it with whatever staple you like; rice or noodle, dry or soup. I'd go for the crispy chicken with egg noodle soup. Simply the best. You're not here to enjoy the atmosphere or the service here - you eat and leave. Although they are ridiculously busy on a weekend, the staff know what you want - everyone goes for the chicken.

Crispy Skinned Chicken
I had been recommended to try the Crispy Skinned Chicken with egg noodle soup meal (the chicken was sooo soft)... and it was absolutely gorgeous. Busy with lots of locals eating the same meal! Good menu choice, will try something else next time round. Good sweet thai drink with three coloured beans, green and white clear jelly strings served with shaved ice on top, covered in coconut milk...it was yum. All for only $12. Highly recommended.
