Pacific House is a breath of Chinatown right here in South Yarra. The popular Pacific House is the most recent version of the long established Chinese restaurant of the same name in Richmond. The new restaurant brings with it all of the good things about the old (great food, low prices) without bringing its drawbacks (average service, cramped dining area).

Top food, service big flop!
Booked a table and were a bit late... The food was very good, but the service wasn't so good.

Love it everytime!
I love the food, I go there at least 3 times a month sometimes more as I work close and I have never been dissapointed with the food! Some say the service is not so great, or the atmosphere isnt all that flash, but to be honest it isnt enough to put me off their food. And the price is great as well. You just can't go wrong at this place if you are after affordable, great tasting Chinese food!

Great food and that's about it
Every time i come here i leave thinking never again, but the food is great, and that's what makes me go back. Terrible service, rude staff, extremely rushed, you basically have food in your mouth as your exiting the restaurant, but great value for money

No Good!! Better to go elsewhere
Rushed is the theme of this place...
While the food is above average, it is overpowered by the feeling of being rushed through your meal. While picking up the last morsel of a dish, the very plate it sits on is being whisked away before you. This rushed feel pervades every element of service at this place. I won't be having a meal here again.
It is interesting to note too, there are many Chinese restaurants with food as good or better, & that are equally packed, but don't drop the ball on service as badly as this one. The original has better food, is just as busy, yet never feels rushed & does not drop the ball on service.
In summary, for a pleasant dining experience, this is not the place.

Good!
I've been here a lot of times. You can have a delicious dinner for $15-$20. The food is super, especially for the price. The service is terrible, but you don't go here for the atmosphere of service, just for the gorgeous food! It's always fully packed with Chinese people, which is a good sign. Try the deep-fried chicken, BBQ Pork and the roasted duck!

For the food, not the atmosphere
Have to be one of the best casual Chinese dining places, come here for the food, not for the atmosphere. Their roast duck is a must, while their "poor man's" version of Peking duck is equally delicious in its own different way.
