Consisting of a restaurant and bistro, this stylish Margaret River eatery covers all bases for casual yet sophisticated beachside dining. The restaurant has a slightly more formal vibe, with a smooth look and terrace dining if the weather's nice, while the bistro boasts pool tables, live music, an open fire in winter and both mains and tapas menus. All the menus are modern, innovative and of course, a little biased, featuring local Margaret River produce heavily (as they should do - bread doesn't get much better than that Yallingup woodfired bread that comes with Gnarabar's own dukkah).

Nice Surpise
My girlfriend and I visited Gnarabar as we had a problem searching for a fine dining restaurant in the Margaret River Area. We decided upon Gnarabar as we had a look at the menu on line and thought, that looks nice. We got dressed up for the occasion to arrive at Gnarabar to find that on entry . . . it was a bar. However, through the back, they had a nice sit down restaurant. From the moment we sat down until the end of the evening the staff was terrific, always ensuring that we were okay. There's nothing better when you look at a restaurant menu and you have a dilemma with what to order however, we didn't even see there specials board yet. Gnarabar has a vast selection on different types of seafood and meets including venison and kangaroo and I opted for the kangaroo starter which was amazing. My girlfriend chose the lamb for main and I had the beef and both were beautiful. The dessert that we shared was gorgeous too, a "mint and vanilla cr?me brulee", this was great however, I think I only got a bite as my girlfriend loved it so much it vanished within a minute I reckon. In conclusion, great food, vast wine selection, good service and nice atmosphere. Will definitely go back!
