Pretty good
Decided to eat at Filter after reading the review here, and was very satisfied with my decision! Not a coffee drinker, so can't comment there, but the food was very good (I had the "Brunswick brekkie" for $17, and a tall glass of freshly squeezed OJ for $6.) The meal I had was delicious, and huge... a sausage, bacon, toast, eggs (mine were scrambled), tomatoes, and mushrooms.
No complaints at all about the service, and the fitout itself is very clean and well designed - seems quite spacious, and capable of fitting many people in. My friend and I went in at about 10.30-11am and it was fairly quiet, but it definitely picked up with more people dining closer to lunchtime, naturally.
Definitely plan to eat there again!

Filter was awesome
Filter was recommended to me a few times and I thought it was about time I went and checked it out. I must say, for a place that’s only been open for six months, it felt like it had been there for years.
I understand the owners have had many years of experience and it certainly shows. Their coffee is superb, by miles the best on Brunswick Street and the service and food was sensational.
I have now been to my usual Brunswick Street hangouts for the last time. FILTER is now the best and the other established haunts have every right to be very concerned about this new gem.
