Fenton's
For some hearty, solid and dependable Oz cuisine outside of Brisbane, you can't get past Fenton's in Ipswich. Try the Frittata, or the panini or indeed anything, it's all great.

Thursday night meal
We went here with some work mates, having heard great things about the amazing Fentons. It WAS in the middle of June and a pretty chilly night, so in terms of atmosphere it was cold in the restaurant, the ladies never took off their coats to give you the gist. For entree I had the pumpkin soup - with super crunchy/hard toast. ummm it was just ok. The salmon was to die for (mains) the amazing crunchy skin that was salty and oh so good!!! Dessert for me was a selection of chocolate desserts, mousse, cake, while choc ice cream or something....the diners I ate with enjoyed the duck, and steak, although apparently if Fenton is there its sometimes a better quality meal (i wouldnt know as this was my first time) The service was great. it is a very good restaurant, just for me if I'm paying well into the $30 mark for dinner and then paying $$ more for a bowl of vegetables, I probably would prefer not to have paper on the table as a dressing, and the actual chairs/tables seemed more inline with a casual cafe. i kid of expected the damask linen and heavy solid furnishings. I'd be back again but at the high end of most people's budget it wouldnt be a regular evening....Im glad I've gone there now thats for sure!
